This Zooma Zooma Zooma day in day out is exhausting. Prior to last March, 30% of my client calls were over Zoom. Then overnight I went to 95%. All of a sudden, we all wanted to see people on zoom to make up for not seeing anyone else, or only our housemates or family, all day! The other thing that happened is I started to schedule all my calls through Zoom vs my calendar app, it was just easier (maybe I have to go back to my old method).

Also, as a financial consultant, I am often pulling up spreadsheets and PDFs to review during my calls. I try to use a separate monitor for those times but it’s still a challenge. While this Zoom trend continues, as of January I have been working toward 50/50 zoom vs phone. And yes, the advantage of more phone calls is I can move around, it truly helps me be more thoughtful and creative.

Hoping once we are having more in-person meetings we get back to 30/30/30. So while I love seeing you all on Zoom, can’t wait to see you in person and get back to talking to you over the phone!
