When an employee is underperforming, take these steps before you start the firing process:
- Try to first correct the employee’s behavior.
- Consider a different path for the employee in the organization.
- Re-interview the employee to get a sense of their interest.
- Re-measure the employee for fit.
- Colleague Conflict? Ask the employee what actions they can take to have more joy working together.
