Letting people go is healthy for the organization and, almost always, for the person you are letting go. Weekly Sips of Wisdom

When an employee is underperforming, take these steps before you start the firing process:

  1. Try to first correct the employee’s behavior.
  2. Consider a different path for the employee in the organization.
  3. Re-interview the employee to get a sense of their interest.
  4. Re-measure the employee for fit.
  5. Colleague Conflict? Ask the employee what actions they can take to have more joy working together.
